Unless you travel over water, you will start your vacation in French Polynesia on the main island of Tahiti. All international travelers first arrive at the Tahiti-Faaa International Airport in Papeete. There are regular direct flights from Paris, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Auckland and many other international airports (Santiago Chile, Sydney, Easter Islands).

Interisland flights are easy to organize and readily available. It takes about 45 minutes to fly to Bora Bora with Air Tahiti. The airport of Bora Bora is located on motu Mute, a tiny islet in the northern part of Bora Bora. 

Luggage needs to be identified upon delivery and loaded onto carts that board the Air Tahiti “Bora Bora Navettes”, a boat shuttle that takes you and your belongings to the main island. This boat trip takes about 20 minutes, offering a relaxing start of your Bora Bora vacation. 

Your transportation to Le Maitai Polynesia Bora Bora will be waiting on arrival. It takes about 15 minutes by minibus from the main pier in Vitape (Bora Bora’s main village) to get to the hotel.
